OUT OF AREA AND OUT OF STATE CACHERS ARE WELCOME !

BIGGER AND BETTER THAN EVER
JUNE 12-13, 2004

Rain on June 12 will move events to June 13

NEW GAMES, NEW EVENTS, GREAT CAMPING, GREAT LOCATION, CANOEING

Located in Kettletown State Park, this event is sure to be the biggest ever seen in this area. Bring your canoe or kayak and search for water caches or cross the river and search for caches in Paugussett State Park.

Parking fee - $7 for CT res., $10 for out of state
Camping fee - $13 per site/night
Event fee - $3 This covers patch, administrative fees and some prizes (this may change)

Stay the night in any of the wooded campsites and search for a special "Night Cache" (flashlight required). Join with other camping geocachers for campfire comradery.

Bring what you can to share, we will have grills going for your use.
If you are staying over Friday night, bring your own dinner. However, several of us will be serving up plenty of breakfast for any campers on Sat. and Sunday mornings. And there are always lots of leftovers for dinner on Sat. night. Again, we will have grills going at the campsites.
CAMPSITES ARE GOING FAST! MAKE YOUR RESERVATION NOW!

WATER ACCESS: If you are coming by water, or just want a place to pull in for lunch during the day, the following coordinates will get you fairly close to the picnic site.

N.41°25.44 W.73°12.69

You can climb up the bank which is pretty steep or follow the wash in and to the right where it divides.

$4 GPS RAFFLE - SPORTRAK PRO $4

Thanks to a special deal to the Jamboree from "Skymarshal" of Florida over the Garage Sail forum, complete with swivel mount and computer cable. This is a brand new unit! Local area maps already loaded.

SPECIAL TRAINING SESSION (1:00 P.M.)

Learn what makes your GPS work - and why it does some of those goofy things it does. Although some tech stuff will be discussed, it will mostly be in plain, easy to understand language for the layman.

Not only is this class good for beginners and experts alike, but we will have guests from local and state police, fire & EMS companies there to learn how to use GPS to locate lost or injured hikers. At the conclusion they will be teamed up with coaches (you expert geocachers) to go out and find "vicitms" that have been hidden in the woods. Would you like to be a coach? Would you like to be a "victim"? Contact us at geojamboree@aol.com

There are several ways to get there for you locals. But for out-of-towners, I would suggest getting of Rt. 84 at Exit 15, follow the brown, then the green signs to Kettletown State Park (Kettletown Rd.) to Georges Hill Road (N.41°26.781 W.73°11.324). Follow road to park entrance (N.41°25.817 W.73°12.079)

CAMPERS DO NOT HAVE TO PAY ENTRANCE FEE TO THE PARK - HAVE A COPY OF YOUR RESERVATION WITH YOU.
