Geocache Description:

*** Trail open Aug 1 - Jan 31 only. *** What's a c-c-car-car-carcass? Take a walk on top of South Table Mountain to find the answer. Once you've reached the top, the walking is reasonably level.

You're looking for a container about the size of a 35mm film canister. Log only. BYOP.

Once you arrive, the first thing you'll ask is, "How did that c-c-car-car-carcass get here?" If camping were allowed in the area, this sheltered spot would be out of the wind.

NOTE: I found a transparent rattlesnake skin a few hundred yards away, so please be alert during the warm months.

Access:
* From the east: There is a trail head at the end of Foothills Circle Drive, which can be approached via 32nd Ave, south on Eldridge at the turning circle, then west on Foothills Circle and south on Old Quarry Lane.
* From the south: The top of the mountain is also accessible viaQuaker Street north of South Golden Road.
* From the south: A gentle, sunny trail begins just east of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, but don't use the NREL visitor parking. Instead, go east a bit to find a parking spot.* From the west: A trail rises from the intersection of 18th and Belvedere St. near old-town Golden. (This access point is farthest from the cache.)

NOTE: *** TRAIL OPEN AUG 1 - JAN 31 ONLY. ***
