This cache is part of the “DCNR - Legacy of Conservation” Geocaching Trail (see “Related Web Page” link above). Collect all the Pennsylvania Legacy of Conservation cards – one from each of the 30 caches in the trail – and show them all at one of the validation centers to receive a Legacy of Conservation geocoin (non-trackable). This geotrail will be archived on June 30, 2013.
Beginning of trail to cache has been rerouted. Note new parking coords. Stage one is an easy find - you will need information from this site to find the final. At stage one: you will need the birthday and the year of death. Using this information, change the last four numbers of the latitude as follows: N41 2A.BCD where A=the number of letters of his birth month, B=the number (day) of his birth, CD=use the digit that appears three times on the plaque for both C and D. (Check your answer - add A+B+C+D = 22.) The longitude for the final is W77 21.721. Parking for final shown below. This cache is in a State Park that has swimming - bring your suit. Cache site just off trail on right (hiking up the trail).
