Geocache Description:

A little known WMA in the Deptford area of South Jersey

The Andaloro State Wildlife Management area would not be apparent unless you did a little research of this area's open space projects. There are no signs or markers indicating this even exists. This 55 acre WMA on the old Andaloro Farm in Gloucester County includes 25 aces of wooded stream buffer and 30 acres of fields on the Big Timber Creek. It was rescued from becoming a 90 unit housing development by the South Jersey Land Trust in concert with Green Acres and other conservation groups. There are trails that border the creek that are frequented by ATV vehicles and fisherman so the cache you seek is a micro. This is just downstream from Fort Nassau, the first building known to have been erected in 1623 by civilized men on the shores of the Delaware. It's exact site cannot now be pointed out, but it was supposed to be upon the north branch of Timber Creek or as the Dutch called it "Timmer Kill".

Your first challenge is to find the entrance. You will be rewarded by a walk on a trail that will give you a great view of Timber Creek. This is a hiking trail now. The cache name reflects spotting this rare to be seen bird in this area as I placed this cache. Enjoy!
