I know what you're thinking, "Another dang cache in the Pheasant
Mountain area of the Monongahela National Forest. When will he give
it a rest?" I think this might be it because I don't see how I
could top this one. Maybe you'll feel the same. I hope so
anyway.
We start this journey at the end of County Route 219/10
approximately one mile from the community of Moore. Near the road's
end you will come to a few houses. Continue past a short distance
to the parking.
If for some reason you're viewing this page text only:
"This parking area is built on private land for public use. It was
constructed by the WVDNR in cooperation with the private land owner
and U.S. Forest Service." Parking is limited. Please do not block
the driveway or the gate. Two vehicles will fit without
trouble. There are a few wide spots along 219/10 to park extra
vehicles if required.
After gearing up, wvhunter's and my route of choice was to
follow FR116 to the split, hang left, hit the tramroad, follow the
tramroad until we started having Upper Yough flashbacks, climb the
hill to FR117, then continue merrily to the cache. Wvhunter wasn't
too merry before FR117 (it's an *up* thing) but that's another
story.
Be prepared. It was about 4.6 miles to the cache taking the
above route.
I have to give credit to Mr.P. for the inspiration behind this
placement. After surprising him on a FTF quest he left this
log.

"And a greaat big HI to you Coalcat, I mean Polecat, sneak, robber,
thief now lets see what other adjectives can I lay on you. At 2:00
I was really laying them on you ole buddy, ole pal they were so
good I won't even log them. LOL LOL LOL are we having fun yet. I
am."
The name "Polecat" stuck in my head and when I stumbled upon a
topographical feature with this name, I knew I had to put a cache
here.
I hope you enjoy and please take proper precautions during
hunting seasons.
The cache is a 30 cal. ammo box.
