Located along the bluffs of the Mississippi River, the view is
outstanding but the trail can be treacherous. When waters are
running heavy, you may need to enter the cave to cross the creek.
Take the south trail from the nearby parking lot for a more
adventurous experience with a fabulous view of the river. The cache
itself is near Black Hawk's spring, where the great warrior had
often sought cool fresh water. Check out the plaque near the
spring.
During the leafy season, be prepared to hunt harder as your GPS
may not function well in the area of the cache.
