How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

We will be sitting at the back of the restaurant area. The reservation is under both Danielle and MBGA and the staff will know where we are. If you're new and haven't been to many events, don't be shy, c'mon over. There's going to be cake!

This may come as a surprise to some of you, but we are losing two of our more well-known and well-travelled cachers in July as they move east to Ottawa and greener pastures.

Take this opportunity to come out to say goodbye and good luck to Junglehair and Tromelin as they start a new life in the nation's capital. Share some stories about their caching exploits and join in a toast to our friends.

Reservations have been made under "Manitoba Geocaching" at the Elephant and Castle Pub and Restaurant in the Delta Hotel, 350 St. Mary Avenue in downtown Winnipeg at 7:00PM.

Junglehair is a Charter Member of Groundspeak and has been geocaching since March, 2002. She has accumulated over 5,000 cache finds and has hidden 30 caches in Manitoba, New York State and New Zealand. She is a respected member of the Manitoba Geocaching community and has served several years on the MBGA executive, and had served as the President of NYGO (New York Geocaching Organization). She has introduced caching to many people including her mother, known to us as The Old Bat.

Tromelin came to us from La Belle Province and is currently serving in the Canadian Armed Forces. He has been caching for almost 4 years and has found over 3,400 caches world wide. He has hidden 7 geocaches, many of which are in Assiniboine Park and Forest, including one earth cache in New Zealand. He has just returned from a 6 month deployment in Sudan and is being transferred to the Ottawa region. Tromelin is a avid caver and one of our more physical cachers.
