Park History

March 26th 2016 marked the 110 year birthday of our very own Park Springs Park. Originally, the Parks Springs hotel and resort was located in the park, just one mile north of downtown Bentonville.

In an advertisement from the time period this hotel is described as "A two story brick hotel surrounded by a forty-five acre park of native oak forest. Fifty cool, airy rooms newly furnished each with running hot and cold water, many private baths, steam heat, open fireplaces throughout the building, wide verandas, and 6 furnished 2 room cottages with sleeping porches."

The hotel set just in front of a natural spring, hence the name.

In 1920, a fire in the hotel began in the afternoon and was discovered by a guest. The fire was so rapid that when the fire truck arrived it was too late to save most of the structure.

Today, Park Springs Park serves as one of the hidden treasures of Bentonville. The park features a large pavilion great for larger events and a playground. The park also contains 1.5 miles of beautiful trail perfect for walks and mountain biking.
