Geocache Description:

12/12/12 only comes once in a lifetime...for me it was on my 43rd b-day. So what better way to celebrate than with a B-Day Geocaching Event.

What: Be the First to Find 50 new unpublished caches* placed 'urban style' in Decatur, IL
          * Caches will be published on 12/12/12 or later. I will post an event note when they get published.

Where: Decatur YMCA -  220 West Mckinley
When: December 8th, 2012

8 a.m. - 8:59 a.m.  Sign in and gps downloading  ( I will have my laptop and am using GSAK to download the coords to your handheld)
Please bring your USB cable to connect to the laptop.  Paper sheets will be available to cross the caches off as you find them.

9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. go caching (eat out on your own)

2 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. drinks and light snacks provided while announcement of winners handing out trophies

Trophy for most FTF's  ( each cache contains a small FTF Tag... collect the most tags.. take home the trophy ) certificate & $20 cash.

1st, 2nd & 3rd place trophies* & Certificate for most caches found ( if more than one finds all 50 caches, then 1st one back to check in is 1st place)

* For teams... only 1 trophy for the team... but each member will get a certificate

Everyone gets a raffle ticket for a chance to win a door prize.

Since my birthday is 12/12/12 I placed 36 special b-day caches...then I placed 7 more Christmas caches to make 43 ( my age) and just to round it off to an even number.. I placed another 7 misc. caches for a grand total of 50.

!   Good luck and happy caching.

Urban Cache:
1) A cache placed in the urban 'inner city' with a high concentration of muggles present.
2) To protect each cache, the cacher must have patience, and use a stealthy approach to the cache.
3) It is imperative to replace the cache as found so that a muggle passing by will not happen to find it.
4) Having a geocaching partner helps while urban caching, as they can be on the lookout for muggles as you approach GZ.

Please post a "Will Attend" if you plan on coming...   after attending... this will give you your #52 smiley for the event!

Thank you and let's all have a fun day
