Time to Kill Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

The cache is not placed in accordance with the requirements laid out by the The Norwegian National Rail Administration (Jernbaneverket). In addition, to get to one of the stages, one must pass the security, which requires a boarding card, which in turn is a violation Groundspeak's guidelines on commercial caches. Because of this, this cache listing is now archive. Please remove the cache.

(Edit: The log had been encrypted, so decrypting it.)

Geocache Description:

The coordinates above are not correct! This mystery cache is located at OSL Oslo Airport Gardermoen, and is designed for those who have some extra time while in transit. You need a flight ticket or another kind of entry document to find the clues for the cache, but not for the cache container itself. Hopefully you'll discover some not-so-known details of this airport...

The cache container is hidden somewhere near the airport. To get the coordinates for the micro container you need to locate a few objects within the domestic departure area. You will have to pass the security checkpoint (don't bring any objects that may cause problems!). You have to leave the domestic lounge to find the cache container, you can do this by the luggage retrieval area (walk up the stairs near gate 20) or by the exit in the middle of the security check area.

You do not need your GPS receiver when looking for the coordinate digits for the final stage (most of them are in areas with no GPS reception at all). The cache hints (and the cache itself) are well away from any dangerous/restricted areas, so do not even consider entering them.

Stage 1: The author
After having cleared the security checkpoint, look for the very large paper clip that has been embedded into the floor (near the book shop). It is engraved with a proverb by a Norwegian author called Henrik. But which Henrik? The digit C should be 2 if it is Ibsen, 6 if it is Wergeland or 9 if it is Langeland.

Stage 2: The pilot
Near gate 11 there's a bronze statue of a pilot who was born in 18EF and died in 1965.

Stage 3: The little plane
Did you know the airport has its own airline? One of its planes is located between gates 15 and 17. The total number of seats in this plane is the digit A.

Stage 4: The small room
Go to gate 26. Look a bit downward the corridor (towards the south-west). You'll see the walls of a small room that is the only one of its kind at the public areas of OSL. But what is the purpose of this room? Substitute B with 4 if it is for smoking, 3 if it is for prayer or 2 if it is for breastfeeding.

Stage 5: The blobs
Exit the departures area and go to the ground floor (arrivals level). On this floor, there's a large number of cylindrical concrete or steel pillars supporting the roof. One or more of these pillars have large steel "blobs" attached to them. How many pillars (on this floor) have one or more such blobs? Please only count blobs in the arrivals hall on the ground floor, not inside the luggage retrieval areas. The blobs in question are strange-looking huge steel structures (larger than a human being); do not count security camera domes or other everyday objects.

Add 5 to the the number of blobs to get the digit D.

By now, you should have all the digits you need. The coordinates for the micro container is N 60° 11.ABC, E 11° 05.DEF. GPS reception is poor at the cache site, so you might need to get more accurate readings nearby and use some triangulation to find the cache spot.

The cache continer is a camouflage-taped micro, "Frisk"-style. It is located in a relatively calm area with no obvious camera surveillance, but avoid drawing attention to your activities. The hint should be quite helpful, but do not decrypt it before you are really desperate. :-)

The cache contains a log sheet only. Bring your own pencil, and please be sensible if leaving any objects (only small trading items are acceptable, such as geocoins). Be sure to replace the cache safely in exactly the same place you found it, it should be completely invisible for all but the most inquisitive eyes. Please do not reveal anything about the whereabouts of the cache in your logs!
