Geocache Description:

This is a simple multi-cache intended to bring you to a local park to meet Perry and Miner, two Jerusalem
donkeys who live in a local park.

The cache is well hidden, and only a little more than 400 feet from the donkeys. Most of the difficulty is for finding the cache.

The entire multi is kid-friendly and dog-friendly.

Visit Perry and Miner (visit link) at the posted coordinates. Perry is a miniature donkey and Miner is full-size. There have been donkeys here entertaining youngsters in Palo Alto since 1936.

The Donkeys are walked through nearby Cornelius Bol Park every Sunday morning from 9:30 to 10:30, and they like attention. This should be a good treat for younger geocachers.

When the animators at Pacific Data Images started doing their research for the donkey that would be voiced by Eddie Murphy in the movie "Shrek," they searched the net for a nearby donkey to digitize, and discovered that there were two practically in their back yard. Thus, the donkey in the movie is modeled on Perry.

Here are the clues to find the cache once you've located the donkeys:

When standing at the gate of the donkey's compound, there's a concrete TV cable box to your left projecting 6 inches to a foot out of the ground. A is two less than the number of letters in the oval on top.

There are a few "no trespassing" sign on the bridge and fences surrounding the creek. Use the most common digit in the phone number as E.

Each side of the bridge has the same number of vertical posts, call it v.

B = v - 1

C is the number of donkey name tags hanging on the donkey gate.

When you are standing at the donkey gate, with the donkeys' name tags hanging in front of you, you will be able to see a little shed with a metal sign that says "Southern Pacific Lines". On one of the corner posts of that shed, you should be able to read three numbers arranged vertically. The top number is D, and the middle number is F.

The cache is hidden at N37 24.ABC W122 08.DEF

The cache is a plastic container 4 inches in
diameter and 2.5 inches tall.

Note: Please be as stealthy as possible when searching for the cache. It is near a bicycle/jogging trail and people can come upon you suddenly. This cache has disappeared twice and it is unlikely someone just stumbled upon it.

Checksum: the 15 digits in the coordinates sum to 47.
