There are so few virtual caches in Iowa that I thought it only right to create this one on this date... July 4, 2002.
This virtual cache is a snippet of history that I'd bet very few people know of. It involves Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States, and documents a small part of his life long before he became president.
Finding this 'drive-up' cache will take you a few miles off the highway on gravel roads. I've passed the markers on the highway (US 63) many times wondering what was out here. When you locate this cache make a note of the 16th word on the sign (it's a 4-letter word, not a number). This keyword is the password to the MS Word virtual cache certificate found here...you'll need to enter it in all caps in order to open the certificate. Please log your find and then once you've opend the document be sure to put your cursor on the Groundspeak logo and CTRL-Click to send me an e-mail confirming your find. Please do not post the keyword in your log.
NOTE: The certificate is ONLY for your enjoyment. If it won't open for you please don't e-mail me to complain. It's most likely a compatability issue with your particular version of MS Word. Regardless if the certificate opens or not you are REQUIRED to physically visit the cache and e-mail the password to me or your 'found it' log will be deleted.
