Welcome to Carson City, my hometown!
My family moved to Carson in 1980. But until recently I had never
given this sleepy place much thought. But caching began introducing
me to places I'd never seen, history I didn't know about, and fun
new places that most locals are unaware of.
Nearby is the sign welcoming visitors to our town. But on the
highway, it's so easy to just zoom on by and not stop to take a
look around. So I placed this cache off the highway - stop and
enjoy your first look at Carson City.
Access is either from the top of the hill on a dirt road, or at the
bottom on Centennial. The fire damage you see was caused by the
Linehan Fire in 2006.

A weekend of being under the weather and I actually had to go to the office this afternoon for some work. If I have to work on a Sunday, I'm going to play a bit too! With temps in the mid-40's and the sun out, it felt good to get out of the house. Besides, a quick-short hike may be just what the doctor ordered. It turned out to be about a 3/4 of a mile loop and just steep enough for the final ascent that the lungs were able to really pull in some of the fresh air. The short walk actually felt good as I made the find and signed the log at 1:45pm.Thanks for the hide, Bernsports (#765)

Knocking off some caches while the kids are at a party. Drove right up to it with my mini van. I am way impressed with that van. Nice hide. Tftc. I ways get excited chasing your caches.
