I'm having a caching holiday in the north of Scotland and thought what better way to meet fellow cachers then host an event!
I'm staying at Dunroamin Caravan Park in Lairg, Sutherland as my base for caching. My local friend cazfish and I will be releasing some new caches into the wild during my stay (at least 10...I'm aiming for closer to 20) around my favourite places in the area. We'll set them to be available for the day of the event, published and also listed here in the week prior to the event, to give people an opportunity to explore the area and add to their cache count. FTF prizes will be in appropriate caches, as well as some final end of day prizes.
There is no set start time for the caching, we only ask that you keep the newly posted caches for hunting on the day (or after of course)
The caravan park will be putting on a BBQ at the end of the day for any who are interested. Food and non-alcoholic drink for £5.
The BBQ will start around about 6pm at the caravan park. The menu will include the standard burgers, sausage, chicken, salads and vegetarian burgers.
Please send me a quick email or write a note here to let me know if you'll be joining. Please indicate on your log if you want to attend the BBQ so I can tell the park how many are coming. They need to know by 29 August.
Camping is of course available for anyone who wants to make a weekend of it, as are hostels, hotels and B&Bs
Look forward to the chance to meet some Scottish cachers!
I'm now here in bonnie Scotland and am in the proccess of getting caches placed. We've got about 15 places picked out. Should have them created in the next day or two, and if all goes well, published with links from here by the start of next week.
