Located in the little-known Hugh Force Park in Wharton, NJ. Parking can be found at N40 54.177 W074 35.444. The difficulty level was set to a 2.5 because you may experience some "bounce" here, and our little geko 101 was only accurate on the day of the plant within 25 feet! (Although IMSpider's N40 54.072 is probably dead-on...Thanks, IM!). Park closes at sunset so no night caching here.
We have been wanting to plant this cache for about a year now, after coming across this very neat 3/4 mile long preserved section of the Morris Canal. Best approach to the cache is to walk along the length of the canal until you come to the remains of the Lock 2 East lock tender's house. On your walk, notice the stone walls on the far side of the canal, holding up what was on old rail line. There is a path to the left of the tender's house that may give you the view from above that you'll need to find the cache!
The Morris Canal once ran 102 miles from the Delaware River to the mouth of the Hudson River across from Manhatten.
