Geocache Description:

A small out of the way park behind St.Alfeges Church which is situated in Greenwich town centre. Easy to access via an alley way next to the church. The park is on the site of a past graveyard, so there are stones and tombs, though it hasn't been used since the 1800's and is now a general park. There are no signs up but the park closes at around dusk during the week and mid afternoon at the weekends.

St Alfeges Church is a Church of England place of worship in the town centre of Greenwich, London, and reputedly marks the place where Alfege (also spelt Alphege), Archbishop of Canterbury, was killed by Viking raiders on 19 April 1012. The second church built on this site was constructed around 1290. It was here that Henry VIII was baptised in 1491. During a storm in 1710 the building collapsed, having had its foundation weakened by burials both inside and outside. The current building, incorporating the earlier tower, was designed by Baroque architect Nicholas Hawksmoor in 1714. The tower later became unsafe and was encased within a new tower designed by John James in 1730. During the The Blitz, on March 19 1941, an incendiary bomb landed on the roof causing it to collapse, burning into the nave. The wall and the tower remained standing, but much of the interior was gutted. The church was restored by Sir Albert Richardson in 1953. The church is also associated with Renaissance composer Thomas Tallis and General James Wolfe, both of whom are buried there. Noted merchant, Lloyds of London underwriter and art collector John Julius Angerstein was a churchwarden there during the early 19th century.

Forgot to write down what I put in :S.

The Cache is now URBAN CAMOUFLAGE... it is a pretend can of car tyre repairer. I decided to camouflage the cache as it had recently been muggled!. Just UNSCREW THE BOTTOM of the can, this time we also placed a rock in front of the can, moves easily.
There is room for small swaps and a few travel bugs.

This is an open park so please take care when grabbing and replacing it. Also please make sure you place it back exactly as found tucked nicely into it's hiding place with the rock placed back in front of it, to prevent any refuse cleaners mistaking it for rubbish. Thankyou.
