One of the most surprising hikes i have been on in a long time! This time of year Devil's Canyon is lush with vegetation and there are spectacular oak trees all along the canyon. The one difficulty is the Poison Oak, so wear long plants! None of the caches we grabbed or placed were in or around any PO but it is all over the sides of the trail in sections! This is a nice gentle rise all the way back 5.5 miles. Bring some good shoes, a camera and lots of water when its warm.
You have passed the dam and passed the half way point if you are headed to Llajas fire road and back. Most of the heavy PO is behind you. I stopped and hid another treasure for you to find. Just off to the east of the trail..about 45 feet, GPSr is probably jumpy, so use some geo-sense to help guide you. You are looking for a larger black pill bottle hidden in the oak tree at the base of the hill. Its hidden behind some bark so please return it as you found it. This is a wonderful section of the canyon, when we hiked there was brilliant green grass ankle to chin high flowing all around. Remember to keep our hills and mountains trash free and take out what you bring in and maybe something extra, We will all appreciate it! Happy Caching! Oh, the cache is log only so bring a pen and there is room for swag, i just failed to fill it before i left!
