Most of the caches on Puerto Rico are near San Juan or the tourist areas of Puerto Rico. But there are many areas along the eastern shores of the main island that are well worth the effort to visit. Telemetry Cliff cache is a tribute to the US Military as well as the people of Puerto Rico. It is located on the Naval Station Roosevelt Roads just outside of the town of Ceiba. You will need to have a military ID card to have access to the base unless you want to arrive by boat. But this restriction will be lifted in a year or two when the base is returned to the Puerto Rican public. As long as you stay on the roads or trails you will not be trespassing. The cliff area is used by many people to access good fishing areas and is open to anyone with access to the base.
The cache is a brown ammo can tied to a tree on the edge of the Telemetry hill cliff. To start you will need to get to the hill to start the hunt. So, drive east past the hospital and follow the paved road to the East until reaching the NSRR Telemetry Station, Corona Division sign. Turn Left/North and follow the paved road northeast. Take the Left fork in the road and continue 0.2 miles (800meters) to a small road to the left that drops down the hill. This is the last place a non-4X4 will make the drive. You should walk or ride a bicycle from here. Follow the dirt road for 0.3 miles (480meters) to the clearing at the top of the cliff.
