Shades of Death Creek is located in Fayette County WV it is a
remote tributary of the New River. the cache is lacated near a
small branch of the creek which feeds Boley lake @ Babcock State
Park.
Park at Boley Lake. Lake View Trail, red diamond markings, is a
loop trail around the lake. In off season the gate is closed on
road to the lake. You can walk to the lake or take a connecting
trail. After 4 years the cache was finally taken by someone or
something. Also the crevice the cache was in seemed to close
up.
The new cache has been moved a little further from the trail near
the park boundary. Visit the Survivor cache located along the trail
and enjoy this wild wonderful WV State Park

I found the original Shades of Death, and it was a nice warm day so I decided to face Death once again. The fall foliage was brilliant and the waters of lake were very calm and reflective. On the way to the cache, I startled some waterfowl on the lake and they made quite a ruckus as they flew away. Other than that, I had the whole lake to myself and found the cache in good shape after a brief search. Thanks for the cache!

My second find of the day. Someone had found it before me earlier in the day; they hid it very well and I hid it just as well. My GPS brought me to the right area and the clue encouraged me to take a stick and start poking, and there it was!I recently went from caching with a Nuvi to a Colorado, and I'll tell you what, I am not a fan of the Colorado. It seems to take me in a big "C" to the final cache location, whereas the Nuvi took me straight to it. TNLN, thanks!!
