This ammo can cache is one of a string of L&C caches from the southern to northern borders of Iowa and Nebraska along the Missouri River. Read the lid to see the connection to the Lewis and Clark expedition. This beautiful state park offers much pleasure, relaxation, and the scenes from the top of the loess bluffs are simply spectacular. Be sure to go to the nearby lookout and take that short walk to the point where you can see Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri, and Kansas.

This cache was placed with permission from the Park.

My fifth Iowa cache. The aliens (a.k.a. Band of Bradys) in Spring Lake Michigan will be doing that green(er) with envy thing again. There is a little friendly competition and this adds to my lead in the number of states race. It was 27° F outside this morning - so I don't know that the aliens have much to be envious of in that regard. Coastal California cacher is in Kansas City Missouri for a few weeks of work-related training. Rented an econo-car for the weekend with a plan of adding Nebraska and Iowa to the map of states in which I have been geocaching. The original plan was to go to Omaha and do some caching there and just across the river around Council Bluffs Iowa. But the Omaha cachers who I emailed all said there was too much snow. So I figured I would try a southern periphery strategy. I usually bicycle or hike for smiley faces - so this caching by automobile is taking a little getting accustomed to. Dropped a smokey bear Travel Bug. Took a geocoin. Noted that the "Little Griz" Travel Bug listed for this cache was not there.

Stopped on our way back home. Got married here at the overlook 6 months ago. Tromped thru the snow to celebrate 6 months on overlook and to get this cache. Thanks for replacing it. SL

As many times as I have driven home to Nebraska I never knew this park was here. Thanks to geocaching now we can hopefully come here someday as a family again and explore the park more. We walked on the trails a bit before it got dark and really enjoyed our short stay.
