Geocache Description:

This is a small traditional cache in a green plastic container. This was once a cleared "trail", but has now fallen into disrepair and will be a bit challenging to navigate. There are now lots of trees down and other deadfall to get around. Please CITO as you go!

 


This cache is located at the Blue Hill Heritage Trust's Frank L. Wiswall Natural Area and Dunc’s Meadow.  Rte. 166A, 0.5 miles north of intersection of Rte. 199.  This property includes thirty acres, a beaver dam and lodge in the Dunc’s Meadow pond.

The Blue Hill Heritage Trust is a nationally accredited nonprofit, membership-based land conservation organization founded in 1985 by residents of the Blue Hill Peninsula in coastal Maine.  Their mission is to To conserve land and water of special ecological, natural, agricultural, scenic, cultural and recreational significance in Blue Hill, Brooklin, Brooksville, Castine, Penobscot, Sedgwick and Surry and to increase public understanding of the importance of land and water conservation.  To date, they have protected over 7,000 acres for future generations.
