Lungo la Via Appia nel tratto che va da Fondi a Itri, sulla destra troverete un bivio (Waypoint BIVIO) che vi porta all’Appia Antica. Dopo alcune centinaio di metri di strada sterrata giungerete al parcheggio (Waypoint PARCHEGGIO).
Da lì potrete percorrere a piedi l’antica “Regina Viarum” . Gran parte del percorso è di origine romana, parte è stata restaurata nel Rinascimento ed ancora altra nel periodo Borbonico. Sul cartello informativo troverete le notizie dettagliate relative a questo tratto di strada.
Nel 1798 questa zona fu teatro della strenua difesa del popolo di Itri, guidato da Michele Pezza, il famoso Fra’ Diavolo, contro l’esercito Franco-Polacco.
Il cache si trova a circa 15 minuti di cammino dal parcheggio, è una scatola tipo Tapperware Regular che può contenere TB e GC.
Cento metri dopo il cache, oltre un cancello di legno potete ammirare lo splendore di questa strada ancora nello stato in cui si trovava 2000 anni fa ed immaginarvi a percorrerla in quel tempo.

Along Via Appia there is a part that connect from Fondi to Itri, on the right you will see a crossroad (Waypoint BIVIO) that you will take to Appia Antica. Travel the dirt road and you arrive to the parching area (Waypoint PARCHEGGIO).
Now you can walk up a stretch of ancient “Regina Viarum”. Most part of the road is of Roman origin, some part restored in the Rinascimental age and another in the Borbonic age.
In the information’s sign you can read (in Italian) the notice of this road.
In 1798 in this site there was a battle between Itri’s people, head from Michele Pezza, the famous Fra’ Diavolo, and French-Polish army.
The cache is to 15 minutes of walk from the parching, it’s a Tapperware box Regular that it can contain TB and GC.
To 100 meters from the cache, beyond a wood’s gate, you can admire the splendour of this road now it’s still how it was 2000 years ago you can imagine to travel it in this age.
