I do have to apologize for my misnomer here and I will take care of it in the spring. I placed this cache in honor of my 400th, nothing to special about this other than it was placed while hiking with snow shoes in the backcountry of Summit Central. The misnomer being that it is currently sitting at about 3600 ft. Have fun as this is the cool winter style cache I have run into for my 400th, a string tied to a fir with the prize at the base of the tree.
I have the spot that I wanted to place this cache picked out, at 4000 ft, but the closure on I-90 delayed my much awaited first snow shoe trip of the year. I will make the adjustment in the spring when I can better do maintainance, but this will have to do to mark my milestone. I only hope you can enjoy the beauty up here as much as I did as I crossed through the backcountry seeing the amazing snow fall of 2006. This one is off of the trails, so ski/board access could be difficult but not impossible.
Congrats to Alciato for his persistance on finding this one for a big FTF.
