The Lawless Politician Virtual Cache

This cache has been archived.

RichardMoore: Groundspeak has decided that, except in extreme circumstances, coordinates of virtual and webcam caches will not be updated.
It has been suggested that the scupture could be used as part of a muti or puzzle cache, or a traditional be put somewhere nearby.
Since my goal had been to retain this cache as one of the few remaining virtuals and an example of what a virtual cache should be, I've decided to just archive it and not place another type of cache in the location.
I'd like to thank everyone who visited the Politician and helped make this virtual cache a success, and I hope that someone (maybe someone who gets downtown more often than I do) places another cache here to continue to bring people to one of Cleveland's unknown attractions

Geocache Description:

Is it a statue? A structure? A machine? IS IT ART? Does it matter?

Built in 1995, over the objections of the mayor of Cleveland, Billie Lawless' sculpture "The Politician: A Toy" is a spoof of our elected officials.
The city couldn't block its commission, but they did try to keep it out of the public view. As if you can hide anything that is constructed of a variety of materials, including rope, fiberglass, and wrought iron, and finished in bright primary colors. Did I mention that it's 35 feet tall?
So it's away from the city center, sort of in an industrial area, but easily seen from the street. The land that it is on is private property, but it was donated for the sculpture so visitors are allowed to be there.
To get credit for the find: There is a wrought iron fence around the sculpture. E-mail me the word that is on the gate.

Latest Update:
The Politician has moved downtown!
He's still being assembled at his new home, so until he is back together, complete with the fence, I ask that no one attempts to log a find on him. There is a concern, and a reasonable one that I hadn't considered, that since he is not at his listed coordinates he might be mistaken as a moving cache.
Thanks!
