One cache in a series that I am placing along the Ice Age National Scenic Trail as it travels through part of the Emmons Creek Fishery Area. This is a continuation of the IAT caches that I have placed in the southern portion of Hartman Creek State Park.
These caches should be relatively easy to find - the intent is to get you out to appreciate and enjoy the ECFA along the IAT. This cache is a large camo bison tube located in an area that was recently logged but the trail is still clear. The attached link will give you more info about the ECFA, HCSP and the IAT. You can park on the side of the road where the trail crosses Emmons Creek Road and follow the trail south to this and other caches. A circular parking area is also located to the southwest along Stratton Lake Road - the IAT proceeds north from this spot to the caches. Please note that there are designated biking trails in HCSP, but bikes and horses are not allowed on the IAT. Hunters may also be present in these areas during open seasons - please see the attached link for more info. I have placed this cache so that it should be winter friendly if you wish visit during the snowy season - it is quite beautiful here at that time of year.
The Geocache Placement Notification Form has been submitted to Thomas Meronek, Property Manager for the DNR. Geocaches placed on Wisconsin Department of Natural Resource managed lands require permission by means of a notification form.
