badlands: Per the rules of this challenge, when less than 36 of the qualifying caches remain active this challenge will be archived. As of my count today, only 34 remain active.

Per the last finder, the ammo can was taken and the contents were left in a plastic bag at the posted coordinates. Once the preserve is open again, if anyone would like to pick up the geo-trash, they may log this challenge as a find as a bonus.

Thanks to all those who have worked on this challenge and a HUGE congratulations to those who have qualified.

Geocache Description:
Over the course of 2009, the members of GONIL (Geocachers of Northeastern Illinois) have recognized many caches as noteworthy and a "must find" by all cachers who seek quality hides. This list is comprised of caches of all types, terrains, and difficulties. Some of these caches have been found many times, others only a few. So in recognition of these caches and their creators, this challenge has been formed.

Please visit this cache and sign the log book at any time (to log it as found please see the qualifications below). Posting a note and photographs related to your visit is appreciated. You are looking for a 30 cal ammo can which is hidden at the posted coordinates.

 

 

To Qualify:
  • Find 10 of the 12 monthly winners (Link)
  • Find two (2) runners up for each month
  • Sign the log book

The Rules:
  • Submit a bookmark list (or email your qualifiers through my GC profile) for verification
  • “Found” logs before verification will likely be deleted without warning
  • A cache may not be used more than once
  • All found caches count whether or not they are currently active
  • If a monthly winner has been archived or not selected (2 of 12) an alternate from that same month must be chosen
  • If there are less than three (3) active/available caches for a given month an alternate from another month may be chosen
  • When less than 36 caches on this list remain active this challenge will be archived (after a grace period for those working on the challenge)
