Brevard County is rich in the history of America's adventures into
space. I can remember watching (on black & white TV) Neil
Armstrong take the first steps on the moon in the summer of 1969. I
moved to Titusville a few years before the end of the Apollo
missions and have continued to live in the area for the entire
lifespan of the Space Shuttle program.
The Moon was the symbol of our country's goal to prove that man
(and eventually woman) can expand our frontier, and hopefully
discover other life forms in our solar system. What seemed to be a
pipe dream 50 years ago, is almost taken for granted today. Close
your eyes and imagine how it must have felt to be the first person
to Touch the Moon.
The cache is not at the posted coordinates. It is a square
"lock-n-lock" box that has been camoed. It contains a logbook, pen,
and assorted geo-treasures. Please make sure each side "locks" back
in place before you put it back. For those of you who have been
caching a long time, you may recognize remnants from another cache
that was in the general area. You won't have to be a rocket
scientist to find the cache once you figure out the
coordinates!
