Sit for a moment at this spot, reflect
upon your trip, take in the vibrant life around you at a
symbol of death, breath deep the humus scent, and know that
you are alive.
The magic of La Luz Canyon's existentialism will be palatable if
you drive from the basin to this location, then continue your
journey to up to SR 244.
Take in the sights, spanning from red rock to ancient evergreens.
This journey will not disappoint you, and I hope you will find La
Luz existential.
I have several caches planned to place along this phenomenal
canyon. However the regular sized caches are not quite out of
production. As we explored the canyon (again), we paused near this
cache and investigated the wildflowers brought to bloom by this
year's plentiful monsoon rains. I picked up an Elk trail and
meandered to this cache's location, and was reminded by the beauty
around me that I was very thankfully alive.
I pulled a micro out of my backpack - but I think you will find
the choice of container a bit on the humorous side.
A washout down the canyon may possibly get worse, so it is
possible the best approach may be from higher at 244. We did the
entire road in a minivan, and only scraped bottom once or twice, so
you probably won't have any problem. Just know that this road can
vary from easily passable to quite an adventure, so use your best
judgment.
Cache sits a 7,889ft in elevation. Coordinates averaged with over
200 samples and netting 11 feet accuracy (a whole rack of birds,
despite the foliage), so this cache will be an easy find.
