Geocache Description:

This is a series of caches being put out by Boy Scout Leaders in Central New Jersey Council BSA that are located at Eagle project sites.

Eagle is the highest rank that a boy can earn in scouts. He has to complete at least 21 merit badges (12 specific required ones and 9 others of his choosing). He also has to hold a position of leadership in the troop for at least 6 months, plus plan and carry out a service project that benefits either a religious or community organization. Many of these projects exceed 100 man-hours to complete. The scout has to fund-raise to pay for this also.

There will be a total of 13 caches in the series. The first 12 will be named for the 12 laws of scouting: “A scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent”. The 13th cache will be a puzzle cache. There will be a clue in each one that will give you the co-ordinates of the final. As you visit each of the caches, be sure to collect the clue in each one so that you can gather the co-ordinates for the final puzzle cache. These all will be coming out soon. Completion of the whole series will enable you to purchase a special patch designed for our council to commemorate this series.

This is a two stage multi originally to show you the two parts of David C-B of Troop 1246 (BelleMead) that was completed Fall of 2009. He built a bench that is near the beach area and installed 30’ of split rail fence near the interpretive center both of which covered over 100 hours of time. However when we went out to check out the area and place the cache, we discovered that there are numerous Eagle projects in this park specifically a Nature Trail by John P. of Troop 137 (Hazlet) and a long boardwalk built by Stephen B. of Troop 61 (East Brunswick). So please note the little signs you see all around and appreciate all the work that these boys have done for the park.

Stage 1 is near the beach area and you are looking for a bison tube with only the co-ordinates to the second stage. Stage 2 can be accessed either by walking around the lake onto the nature (yellow) trail to the interpretive center or driving to the lot for the center. This is a small lock-n-lock. No bush-whacking is required for either stage.
