Geocache Description:

This cache is located within Sweet Marsh Wildlife Management Area. The area is home to the protected Massasauga Rattlesnake and is also a preserve closed to human traffic September 10 through December 25.

Sweet Marsh is a wonderful place to hear and see wildlife of many sorts. While placing this cache I heard wood frogs, bull frogs, red-winged blackbirds, a barred owl and sandhill cranes and saw ducks, geese, monarchs, turtles, a garter snake and a deer.

During the spring, summer and fall the dikes along Sweet Marsh are mowed and conducive to walking. You will be walking along the dike most of the trek. The last 100 yards or so will take you trekking through nettles, poison ivy, and the like.

The cache container started with several items that either make a melody or represent a creature from the marsh.

Enjoy all the marsh melodies and maybe make a note of what you saw and heard in your log. Thanks!
