Geocache Description:

This is a fairly easy cache to find, IF:

You are driving a 4WD vehicle
You are driving a HIGH vehicle
You are riding a dirt bike
You are walking. (As the crow flies, cache is about 700 ft from main road)

Passenger car not recommended. Lots of washes and arroyos. Roads very rocky.

With the right vehicle or walking you can get to within 20 feet of the cache on the roads.

Location and terrain: Santa Rita Foothills Estates is a yet undeveloped housing development located... well you can guess where it is located from the name ;-). Access varies via roads, trails and washes. There are several access points off S. Houghton Rd, and several off Camino Aurelia. How you access the development is your option. There are no private property signs, fences or gates, and the area is used by locals for hiking and dog runs. Watch for critters, they are abundant. Stick to the marked trails. The only vehicle access from anywhere in Tucson is via Houghton Rd.

There are many steep arroyos and soft sandy washes and the roads themselves are very rocky. It is not recommended for a passenger car, unless you don't worry about getting buried in a wash or high-centered on a rock.

If you have only a passenger car, I would recommend that you park it on the side of the roadway, whether you use Camino Aurelia or Houghton Rd as your access point. It is a pleasant hike to the cache location if you stay on the trails/roads. Depending on where you enter the area, the cache is only 1/4 to 1/2 mile hike from any direction.
