Originally inspired by Sept1c_Tank's Seattle visit, this started
as a regular sized cache and a journey that began with the theme of
flying in dedication to the Travel Bug Fly Me to The Moon which
Sept1c_Tank kindly donated for the cause.
Fly Me to The Moon Send-off pictures.
The TB's journey began at a small park dedicated to a former
King County Council Member. Here you will find two signs at the
above coordinates in and around the monument. You will need to gain
the numbers off of these signs and used in the following
format:
ABCD - EFGH
JKLM
The first two waypoints are for parking locations with the first
being preferred, but if you find yourself on the opposite side, the
alternate will work just as well.
The next location takes you to a small salmon protected estuary
recently renamed after a Cecil Moses. The only reference I can find
of this gentleman is he was a Sko-Bobch Indian made infamous in a
court fight over fishing rights and treaty commitments.
(The Last Indian War by Janet McLoud and Robert
Casey)
Previously a haven for the nefarious type, it has been recently
cleaned up with a new restroom put in place for hikers on the
Interurban & Green River Trails system. There are no toys for
the kids to play on, but depending on the season and if you're
quiet enough, you might see some bunnies resting in the shade, or
goslings frolicking in the small pool. There is even a resident
Great Blue Heron.
Public Health Hazard:
Although the park has been newly renovated, there is
Poison Hemlock and Giant Hogweed in the area.
The parks department knows it is there and is trying to
eradicate it . Neither will effect you so long as the plant
doesn't break and you come within contact of the sap. If you do,
keep your face clear of any contact and wash as soon as
possible. Otherwise, follow basic first-aid for treatment then
get to a hospital. Although you will need to walk past them, the
trails are clear from overhangs. The cache is not located
near these noxious plants.
