Located in Prospect Park, which is a part of the Leominster
Recreation Department. Easy and short walk to the cache. Parking is
located at N42° 32.011/W071° 43.615 . Park is open 8am -
Sunset.
While hiding this cache we saw a Heron landing in the water along
the path and is where we got the name from. Prospect Park is 35.68
acres and is located in the northeast section of Leominster on
Prospect and Lawrence Streets. Most of the land was taken by
eminent domain in 1973, for conservation and recreation purposes,
but 9.68 acres of this land was given as a gift to the Leominster
Recreation Department. This 9.68-acre area contains walking trails
and a small pond with a brook and bridges over the brook. Local Boy
Scouts have assisted the Recreation Department on several occasions
with the clearing and marking of trails. The cache is a micro cache
and is pretty well hidden. please return it the way it was found,
in order to provide some challenge for the next finder. There are
no trinkets inside. There are a few small pieces of pencils in
there for logging your find. You may wish to take your own pencil
or pen with you as it will be easier to write with a full size one.
Please advise if the pencils need replacing or any other problems
of the cache. There were a lot of mosquitos out when this was
placed, so determining the time of the year, you may need or wish
to carry the repellant with you.
If seeking this cache during the snowy winter months, it may be
difficult to find. Note, someone did find it with snow on the
ground, so it is possible to find.

September 23 by SNUGGLES.ADVENTURES (55 found) It was a beautiful afternoon to go out caching I met my friends (Sickstix) and went out for a nice hike. This was an easy find. Signed the Log. TFTC #20

[view this log] | September 21 by mi50ke (382 found) Hardest part of these caches was finding a place to park. Was in one of the neighborhood and was going to bushwhack. If I had keep going a few more feet would have made it into the park. Nice little area once I was in the correct place. It seemed more like luck that I found a micro in the woods. Poor GPS reception did not help.
[view this log] | August 21 by carels (9529 found) # 8786 Thank you for the cache. We are having a great time in Massachusetts, and we feel like kids in a toy store (i.e. geocachers in an area with many hidden geocaches.) We had this one on the list and we found the cache after a little hike and some searching..
[view this log] | August 12 by ShirleyG (440 found) Met up with Lone Wolf today and set off to find the two in the area. Quick find for both. TFTC
