Many Hands, Light Work! The Tick-Magnets and the Middle Georgia Cachers will be supporting the GGA's statewide CITO activities for Earth Day. Historic Shiloh Cemetery is the location of our April CITO. After years of overgrowth, Shiloh Cemetery is being respectfully restored to honor the history of those in this area. Gravesites and artifacts have been reclaimed through the efforts of many in our community. Because of a cache located here, many geocachers have visited the site - and now it is our turn to help with the recovery efforts.
We have been asked to help spread mulch along the wooded walking trail on the Shiloh property. Please wear sturdy shoes and work gloves - everything else will be provided (rakes, pitchforks, 4x4s, wagons, etc.). Of course, you are welcome to bring additional tools, if you'd like. BUG SPRAY and DRINKING WATER will be important. We'll even reward you with a pizza lunch afterwards!
ENTRANCE: Enter the cemetery access road off Amber Drive (see trailhead waypoint). Parking is at the event coordinates.
LOCAL CACHERS: If you've been out to Shiloh, you know parking will be a challenge. PLEASE consider carpooling with your geo-buddies so we limit the number of cars. Nearby Eagle Springs Elementary School might be a good meeting place.
