Geocache Description:

State Park Parking lot at: N 39° 46.615 W 075° 32.595

Bring your own pencil. The one in the cache sometimes disappears.

Alapocas Run Park is part of the Northern Delaware Greenway linking to Bellevue State Park to the east. Now it is a favorite of local walkers and joggers. Park is open 8am to sunset only.

A bike and pedestrian walk enters the park just off of Augustine Cut-Off. Parking is available at the Blue Ball Barn just west of US 202 or to the east side of US 202 (driving below US 202) uphill to the north for a nice parking lot along the Greenway. This park is now part of Alapocas State Park so park fees apply from March 1 through November 30. There are self-pay stations at various parking lots. Delaware licensed cars pay $4 unless they have a State Park sticker. Out-of-state licensed cars pay $8.

Use the paved walking/biking trails, walking through open and shaded parkland. Not a difficult hike and there are a couple of places to rest and enjoy the little streams and woods, thus the cache name.

The cache is a peanut butter jar with small trade items and the log book. The tree cover does interfere some with the GPS signal, so use the hint if you need to, once you have arrived at the posted coordinates.

After finding this cache, some other caches require a more strenuous hike if you want to find them in the same park. We recommend GCA2NMJ.
