Quakes Series. The correct coords for this cache are:

Where will the next great quake of magnitude 9.0 or higher hit? No
one knows for sure, but it will likely be somewhere in the Ring of
Fire surrounding the Pacific tectonic plate and will likely
generate a deadly tsunami. All 9.0+ earthquakes recorded so far
have been in the Ring of Fire and have produced
tsunamis.
in June 2006, scientist Yuri Fialko
of Scripps Institution of Oceanography at the University of
California, San Diego predicted that the southern part of the San
Andreas Fault will likely be the site of a major earthquake in the
very near future. Historical records show that the San Andreas
Fault experienced massive earthquakes in 1857 at its central
section and in 1906 at its northern segment (the San Francisco
earthquake). The southern section of the fault, however, has not
seen a similar rupture in at least 300 years. Therefore, the
pressure between plates in this region has been building up for
centuries and when it finally gives way, Southern California will
experience a catastrophic earthquake. To see a map that shows the
probability of stong shaking in California for the next 24 hours,

But who knows – it may happen right
here. Just because Central Texas hasn’t had a major earthquake for
60,000 years doesn’t mean we can’t have one tomorrow. So go find
this series of caches while you still can!
In keeping with my philosophy that
Physical Geography affects you every single day of your life, we
have hidden these caches in everyday places. This is a neighborhood
greenbelt/park that you might not have known about. There are two
official entrances to the park. Please do not go across private
property to get to the cache.
UPDATE: September 24, 2007 I am having a lot of trouble with
several stages of this series. Therefore I have decided to archive
the whole series on Oct 15th. If you plan to do the series, please
do so before Oct 15th. It was fun while it lasted. Thanks for
visiting - hope you learned something.
Congratulations to Deafdillos on the FTF!
