Chico's first web cam
cache!
California State University, Chico
is home of thousands
of students. It is also home of
the
Meriam
Library Web Cam. Located on
campus,
the camera was originally a
student project of Chris Ficken. The camera resides on the second
floor
of the campus library and is aimed
out to the area between the library and
Little Chico Creek.
The
web cam can be viewed at:
http://hampton.csuchico.edu:4421/
The cam refreshes every five
seconds, so you wont have to wait long to get your
picture.
This cache will need to be done
during daylight hours. At night, the reflection
from the window obscures the
view.
To log a find for this cache, you
are going to need help from someone with
internet access.
You need to find the area outside
the library where the cam is pointed and stand on or near that
spot:
N 39° 43.707 W 121°
50.793
Now proudly
raise your GPS over your head for the photo!
Don't worry...the student's are
used to strange behavior!!
Next, your friend is going to have
to log onto the cam's web
page here and capture
a screen shot of you holding your
GPSr over your head.
The pic needs to be taken of you
outside with the library cam, not inside the library or with your
own camera.
IMAGE CAPTURE
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Hit the
Print Screen key.
2. Paste into
graphic program like Paintbrush, and
save.
Now you can log your find and post the picture as proof...it's
that easy!
Remember, the photo has to be a shot of
you outside
of the library
camera holding up your GPS over your head
:)
To keep things fair, posts without the proper photo will be
deleted
(the pose is a requirement for by Groundspeak for cache
approval...I am required to enforceme it to keep the cache
published. Thanks for understanding!).
Have fun! Extra points
awarded for originality and creativity!
Signs must be BIG to be
legible.
Way to go
cacheupnmustard for being FTF!
Happy caching!
