“WISCONSIN SPIRIT
QUEST”
The Wisconsin Spirit Quest series of
geocaches will take you to a number of historic cemeteries
or other historic sites. In four years, the quest has grown to over
six hundred caches hidden in Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Ontario and
Wisconsin and the hiders have grown to over thirty cacher teams.
Over 1,000 cacher accounts had logged over
25,000 finds when we quit counting.
MEMORIAL TO MY MOTHER WHOM RECENTLY JOINED MY FATHER IN ETERNAL
REST HERE AT HIGHLAND MEMORIAL.
This cache is dedicated to my Mom,
She grew up in Milwaukee, met my dad, tied the knot, gave birth
and raised us five kids, I am the youngest of these five. My mother
was a homemaker, a rare breed these days! One income is not always
easy to live on and many women now work as do their husbands. I
believe that we are all a product of the environment that we were
raised in and I've got to say that even with lives many ups and
downs my mother still managed to maintain an even keel between all
the things that she did for Pa, us five and her many friends and
relatives. She was a very kind and loving woman, a trait that I
believe has been passed down to us kids as well. For the last 8 or
10 years, before her death, July, 2009 she had enjoyed collecting
angels of many types and therfore I have created this "ANGEL"
themed cache in her memory.
The cache container is a camouflaged container about the size of
a regular soup can which contains a log & pencil, guardian
angel cards and kindness coins. If you're in need of a guardian
angel or would like to honor someone for their kindness, please
take one of these items as a momento of your visit. If you'd like
to leave something "Angel" related behind please do so. Please be
sure to place the container back in it's original location and hide
it as it is now. "Watch out for muggles on the bike path next to
the cemetery".
The grounds are open from Sunrise to Sunset. While you are here
take a moment to enjoy the beauty of this cemetery, I have many
other friends and relatives whom either reside here currently or
will reside here some day. My parents are near the last supper
memorial which is amazing. Permission for the placement of this
cache was given by the Porter family whom own the cemetery.
