South shore of Lake Georgetown, park at Camp Tejas
While exploring the Goodwater Trail around Lake Georgetown I noticed that the Army Corp of Engineers placed stone mileposts along the trail. They are fairly old and some have been knocked down so I didn't think it was unusual that I did not see milepost 10 while hiking that section of trail. What was unusual, though, was that the distance between mileposts 9 and 11 was off by about a quarter mile. Looking at the topo map of the area I saw that there was a loop of old road that arched away from the shoreline while the "trail" cut across a large meadow. It turns out that the official trail follows the road and along this stretch of "missing trail" I found milepost 10. Now you can also.
