Really lovely view and a dog friendly area. This is Windmill Hill -
behind the posh new swimming pool in a genteel old part of town.
(There are caches at 2 more semaphore sites - GCKF19 Directional
Scenes#1 and "By George!")
Historic walk of about 1km from red Letter #1 to GZ if you turn
towards the river first, walk along the Esplanade turn at Tamar St
and come up past the monkeys in the park at GCNGV6. Really nice
cafe there too. On foot there are many ways to come here using old
stairways past the lovely gardens and houses. There are gates in
all corners and the mid sections of the park fence so you can walk
through the park rather than around it.
The difficulty relates to
1.Beware bowler muggles!
2. The lawn is a shambles as the council is concentrating on the
pool -nettles all around the first cache site.
There is ample parkin. Toilets and food at swimming pool and a
functioning drinking fountain is at the northern foot of park,
bottom of the hill.
Follow the very old elm row on the top of the hill on west side to
go to yet another park, playground, corner shops and cafes.
