Geocache Description:

NY Capital Region Geocachers 13th annual picnic, September 12th at the Grafton Lakes State Park, Grafton NY

Come join us for a fun filled weekend of,camping, paddling, hiking and geocaching. This year's picnic will be held only on Saturday but many of us will be camping for the weekend. The park program fee for this event will be $2 per person, no matter if you're staying the weekend or just for the day. We will be collecting the fee at the pavilion. You can come for a couple hours have some fun and meet a few new friends. Or you can come for a couple of days have some fun and meet a whole bunch of new friends. Either way you will go away with some great memories and many new friendships. We have reserved the Deerfield pavilion for the day so this event will be held rain or shine.

Tent camping is available near the pavilion for those who wish to stay Friday and Saturday night. Self contained tow behind campers and RV's can set up in the lot near the pavilion. If you plan to camp please state so in your "will attend" log.

Grafton Lake State Park has a  wide variety of hiking and nature trails to explore.  There are 5 ponds within the park with connecting canoe caries, so don't forget your kayaks. There is a playground near the pavilion for the younger geocachers.

This is a Potluck only Picnic.

We need people to bring a food item to share and whatever you would like to drink. There is electricity at the pavilion for those wishing to bring a hot dish.  We also welcome donations for our door prize drawing.

Pets: Pets are allowed with proof of current/valid rabies vacination. Campers can walk a dog on a leash no longer than 6 feet as long as the dog is under control. Dogs can not be left unattended. Campers are responsible for cleaning up after your pet. Pets are not allowed in day use areas, beaches, pavilions or any structures.
