This less-traveled trail climbs steadily from the Logan River up
into Mill Hollow. The views up canyon early on are wonderful, a
backdrop of alpine peaks framed by bare cliffs, sagebrush meadows,
and colorful aspen, fir and maple forests. Check it out in fall,
when the maples and aspen are in their fall splendor and the
mountains are dusted with snow. Farther up canyon, you'll be in
trees that block most of the view, but you'll come across meadows
here and there that let you look around. Across Logan Canyon the
China Wall formation really stands out.
The trail is well-packed dirt and fairly clear of fallen trees
or rocks. It is apparently all that is left of an old logging road.
There's shade and a few handy rocks or fallen logs to rest on, here
and there. It crosses the strenuous Spring Hollow Trail early on
(according to Cache Trails 2004 ed.)
There is parking at the end of a short loop road to the west of
Third Dam.
