Geocache Description:

Everywhere you go, you can see spirals in nature. These spirals are frequently copied in art form. As you walk to this cache, see how many spirals you can find.

Letterbox directions:
Begin your drive at the roundabout at the intersection of Rainier Rd SE, Balustrade Blvd., and 67th Ave SE.

Head south and go under the power lines and the railroad tracks.

Watch for the following as you pass them on your right:
- large rock with Castle Rock inscription
- Chehalis Western trailhead sign
- school bus stop sign

Pass a section of road with guardrails on both sides.

Continue past a Christmas Tree farm on the right until you drive through another section of road with guardrails on both sides.

You will soon pass a yard on your left full of statues.

Almost immediately, turn right/west.  (This turn is just before a sign under a small roof, behind a fence.  The sign has trees and a fence on it.)

Continue on this road past a local park on your left, to a "T."

At the "T" turn right/west.

On your left you will see a mini red roof with the #8 on it.

When you see a double sign with the lower part reading "AHEAD" prepare to turn left/south almost immediately.

Turn left/south on the street with a "no outlet" sign found just before the trail markers.

Park in the pullout at least a few hundred feet after your left turn, not the first very small pullout.  (If you think you know where the letterbox is and want to park closer, don't.  It would be illegal due to signage or private property.)  You will walk or bike from here.

Start by heading up the small path from parking to the main trail.

Turn left/south onto the main trail.

Go over a bridge with metal railings.

Pass as indicated:
- a yellow sign on right
- a red sign on right
- a private drive with rocks on both sides
- 3 large rocks on left near a paved area

At this point, you will be in a somewhat clear area with white barked alders, heading toward an area with many hemlock trees, starting with small ones on both sides of the trail.

Soon after this, you may notice on your right, a large nurse stump with a hemlock growing out of it.

Continue on to a newly paved section of trail with three culverts running under it.

Pass a green metal cylindrical post on your right.

Continue a short distance to a clear/open area on your left.  This is just before a cluster of 5 maple trees on your right.

Take the animal trail to your left to a large tree with woodpecker holes in it.

Look a few feet right to a hiding spot that would make Stump Lady happy.  Look inside for the container.
