The trail begins at the carpark of the Can Serra rest area, located at 42º 09.214N 02º 31.075E of the GI-524 from Olot to Santa Pau.The cache is following the pedestrian trail number 2 is fully signalled and flat. The cache is very close on top of a hillock with two trees.

The Natural Park of the Volcanic Zone of the Garrotxa Territoy is one of the most singular protected areas of Catalonia, since it is the best conserved volcanic system in the Iberian Peninsula, and one of the most representative of continental Europe.
This beechwood is exceptional in that it grows at an altitude of just 500 m, on a plan above the lava flow of the Croscat Volcano. The relief of the land is undulating, with many hillocks.
