Geocache Description:


The Riddle of Diagoras
Parking Koordinates:
N 36°23,961'
E 28°08,589'

The hunt leads you to the top of the Mt.Philerimos,
where you can find the lost town Ialysos, if you dig deep enough...
Philerimos is "The friend of the Lonelyness"
and when you stand there you will understand the meaning.
The city Ialysos herself, the home of Diagoras, wasn't found yet,
but many signs till down to Trianda tells about their existance.
Follow the waysigns in trianda to Philerimos to the parking place,
then walk thru the old italian crossway to the biggest cross at

N 36°23,957'
E 28°08,362'

Enjoy the wonderful view over the complete nothwestcoast and
up to Rhodos-city in the north.
May you see there the aquarium building at the end of the island.
At this place, simply count all the little windows under the platform
of the cross, where you can find the following numbers: 1992-1994 and 1995-1996.

On the right place you find beneath the path the door with an retangle over it,
as seen on the picture below.
Walk thru, the cache is inside the walls, nearby the white room with the steeldoor.
Inside the container are some information in german and some small things for trade.
Please, don't move or touch any stones of the wall, it's not necessary,
just look in the corners of the rooms !

Note on cache maintenance: Some friends regulary visit the surfspot Meltemi-Power in Kremasti, so they can sometimes take a look for the cache, which is only 2 km away from there.
