When we first visited this area in the spring the falls were spectacular, running fast with all the winter run off. Now, in the early winter, they are still amazing, but not as much water is flowing. This stream is actually a fork of the main Salt Creek which it flows into right below the falls.
Please be very careful while accessing this cache and enjoying the view of the falls. We suggest the kids and dogs stay on the road as there is quite a cliff down to the creek. Also a walking stick would be useful for the slippery moss covered rocks and ground (and to poke around watching for snakes too!).
The cache is a small peanut butter jar with a log and a couple trade items. It is placed in a way that you don't need to scramble across rocks or even stand on rocks while getting it out of its hiding hole.
There is a parking spot on the road just above the cache, but to turn around go on up the road about 500' to an intersection with another road.
