Heroes are often the most ordinary of men.
Would Thoreau be amused, amazed, or agahst to find his quote emblazoned so prominently on this memorial? Nontheless, it is a fitting tribute to the men and women who served in the US armed forces. This is a new intricately crafted memorial to those who have served our country, especially in the last century and especially those local men who died in service. Try to come by to see it in the twilight.
There are seven illuminated plaques on one wall, one for each branch of service. One of those plaques has a date expressed in a somewhat uncommon fashion --- usually seen as the copywrite date on books or in movie credits. Use the last half of that year to determine exactly where the cache is... it is within 10 meters of the memorial.
This is a typical "urban" microcache --- a 35mm film canister. The challenge is to find, retrieve, and replace the cache without being noticed by muggles on the busy street very nearby. Bring your own pen to sign the log. There is space for only a few small trade items. Please put it back as you found it.
WINTER RATING: May be buried by plowed snow.
