Geocache Description:


 

This is a two stage Geocache. Once you arrive at the final, you will have one of the best views over this beautiful island!

 

 
Stage 1

Take a tour to Cavo and hike up to the Mausoleum at

N 42° 51.913 E 010° 24.765.

Climb up the stairs and find the sign on the photo to the right. Write down the three letter word written above the sign.

Ø= [(Multiplication of positions of the three letters in the Alphabet) + 384] / 10 =

µ= [(Position of second Letter) - 1 ] * 5 =

Stage 2 (Final, on the mountain):

Check first your Result: The checksum (horizontal sum of digits) of Ø + µ is 7.

Now move on to stage 2; the best way is to first look for GCQ97X (park your car in Mola or Porto Azzuro) and then follow the path in north direction for about 200m to N42° 46.754', E10° 22.594', turn right and follow it until here N 42° 47.179', E 010° 23.167' and than move straight up (!) to the final cache location (s.a. Log of Nachtwacht).

Warning: Do not surround the mountain or follow stone piles - you don't have to climb at all or pass any dangerous parts to get to it. Anyway, the cache is at your own risk and I recommend to not bring kids under 10 years.

Final: N 42° 47.(291-Ø)', E 010° 23.(248-µ)'

  • drinking water (at least 1 liter per person)
  • sun screen
  • head protection
  • solid shoes
