Geocache Description:

A cache along the Wolf River in the Navarino Wildlife Area. You are looking for a steel water bottle with a 1" opening and no or minimal room for swag.

The Cache Awaits


While scouting various spots to place caches along the Wolf River, we found this swampy little inlet to be intriguing. We decided to be kind and not make you paddle too far through the muck since you've already had to paddle a few miles to get here.

The name of the cache comes from the fact that when we were placing it, we were shadowed by a pair of bald eagles for nearly the entire journey. You're nearly certain to see some wildlife in this wild place.

This is one of a series of paddlin' caches located on a 7-mile stretch of the Wolf River that flows through the Navarino Wildlife Area. Do one, two, three, or more. Several boat launches are available; see cache GC2BK94 for waypoints. Get the canoe or kayak: motorized boats not recommended unless you really know the ins and outs of this stretch of river, which features numerous sand bars and downed trees.

The Geocache Notification Form has been submitted to of the Wisconsin DNR. Geocaches placed on Wisconsin Department of Natural Resource managed lands require permission by means of a notification form.
