Not kid friendly when the waters are high or winter ice conditions may threaten. At other times of the year when conditions are dry and warm it is very friendly.
Sam is a "distant" cousin to Belsnickle. These forest dwellers do have similar interests and likes. They both enjoy the company of Stella, they love the outdoors, they admire adventure and enjoy travel but best of all they love to be discovered and shared and give in return to you their gift of a NUMBER. If you raced to get here just to log a FTF and run..you are missing the point of the FUN intended for this hide.
Sam hopes that when you arrive you will find the special ROCK that he and Stella share for their picnics on the warm and sunny days. It is not far from their rock that the Barred Owl dwells and the 'WHO-O-O-O-O of the cry will ask you what you brought for the other feathered friends in this forest.
Yes, this is a YOUNG AT HEART simple geocache but it is reminding you to stop and ENJOY the nature about you.
TAKE THE TIME: to cherish the wetlands that still survive the urban sprawl.
SAVOUR THE SOUNDS: of nature around you( just meters from the urban sprawl and the transportation links of many lines of busy-ness)
LISTEN FOR THE QUIET: while you have the ears to hear and the most important thing of all...
HAVE FUN and perhaps a little chuckle while you set upon the ROCK, sign your name and have that great feeling of being alive and meeting SAM.
This walk is not so much a difficult walk but in certain conditions it can be a real conundrum as to the BEST route you take. If you make the wrong choice you may have to wade, or if you really make a mistake you will be far far across the swamp and it is NOT recommended to try and walk through there.
There is no SERIOUS BUSHWHACKING required for this find. IF you did or do...you made it much too hard for yourself.
